Given Circumstances+Why i want to play the two characters I've chosen

In  Thursday's lesson we talked about given circumstances and gave some to our characters. Given circumstances are simple statements including facts about a person or character e.g "Ara is a from Afghanistan" I had to give some given circumstances for the two characters i wanted to play;Refugee Manager or Roza.Here are the given circumstances i came up with:Refugee Manager-

• She runs the refugee camp

• she's from London

• generally friendly but serious when needed

• a sort of mother figure to the refugee's but not as emotionally attached 

Roza-

• She's from Iraq

• she and Hassan are friends

• they get along because they speak the same language

• friendly and always putting up with Hassan's teasing

This made me think a lot more about the characters and want to find out more about their background. it made me understand that there is much more to the character than what's written on the script.

Why i want to play the characters I've chosen 

I would love to play a character like the refugee manager because it's a great character with lots of different personalities. one minute she's friendly towards Kojo, the new boy, and the next minute she's breaking up a fight and being very strict. i would love to be able to play this character and work on showing these different personalities throughout the play.

My second choice of character was Roza, although she doesn't say much she is a vital character because she helps Kojo throughout his story alongside Chueng,Ara and Hassan. i think that her relationship with Hassan is quite comedic and would love to get to play a character who uses comedy in their part.
